Aqueous Coating was developed in the late 1970s and is also referred to as AQ coating. Aqueous coating is water-based, with a water content percentage of 30-40%. It is an environmentally friendly coating option because it doesn't cause VOC emissions like varnish.
Normally, AQ coating is applied to the entire sheet, as opposed to spot coating (spot UV). However, it often costs twice as much as varnish and takes more time to dry than UV coating.
