Both box size and paperboard thickness are crucial factors when creating a paper box template. Accurate measurements of the dieline are essential to ensure that your product fits perfectly within the box once packaging is complete. To help facilitate this process, we have provided a checklist below to guide you when sending us an email requesting a free paper box template.
It would be very helpful if you could send us one or two pictures of a similar printed paper box that you want.
If it is a regular paper printed box made of the SBS paperboard, we usually assume that paper board thickness is 0.5mm.
If it is the corrugated board used to make a corrugated printed box, we need know the flute types, E flute, or BC flute, or F flute.
For a rigid paper box, we need know the paperboard thickness you need, is it 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm or 3mm?
Could you kindly specify whether the size mentioned refers to the inner or outer dimensions of the box? We would greatly appreciate both specifications. If this information is not available, we kindly request that you provide us with the dimensions of your product.
It is of utmost importance for us to discern the difference between the inner and outer dimensions, which is determined by the thickness of the paperboard. This information is particularly critical for corrugated and rigid paper boxes, as it may impact pricing and give rise to future complications such as the box being unfit for your products or the products shifting inside the box. In case of uncertainty regarding the box size, we would be grateful if you could send us a sample of your product, enabling our designer to determine the appropriate size.
In the paper printed packaging field, standard paper box is measured as length x width x height(depth), where the height is the vertical dimension of the box when the opening is facing upwards.
A dieline template is a 2D design that provides instructions for cutting, creasing, and perforating paper boxes for packaging. It includes solid lines to represent cut lines and dotted lines in a different color to indicate fold lines. It also designates areas for tape or glue.
